About Your Group

Our group covers the area of South East Hillfields, comprising Canterbury Street, Vine Street, Charles Street, Colchester Street, Winchester Street, Raglan Street, Alma Street and Lower Ford Street.

Over the last few years we have been attempting to improve the environment in the Colchester / Winchester St area, by replanting flower beds. We now have an ongoing plan to replace the older trees and improve the lighting in the area. We are also improving East St Pocket Park with the help of Southfields Primary School pupils and Warwickshire Wildlife Trust. We also contribute to the Hillfields-by-the-sea trip for Hillfields residents and the Hills Pantomime at Christmas.

We meet at St. Peter's Community Centre, Charles Street, on the first Wednesday of each month at 6.30pm. The meetings are open to all residents of the area and generally last for about an hour. Topics dealt with include litter, the environment, parking, anti-social behaviour, and general points about improving the area. One of the local Councillors usually attends and we have had various visitors on particular subjects over the years. We also have links with other groups in the city and intend to link up with them on issues of common interest.
