About Your Group

Grapevine works with adults with learning disabilities in Coventry. Based in Spon End, we work alongside people to enable them to speak up about their lives, get involved in their neighbourhoods and communities and get new skills and experiences.

Grapevine believes that everyone has the right to a good life and must be treated equally and with respect. We welcome people all backgrounds and abilities.

People at Grapevine work together to bring about some kind of change in their own lives or in the lives of other people who have a learning difficulty.

Here are some of the things we do:

Campaigns Team

We were successful in getting the wages for workers in sheltered workshops raised from Ł4.50 a week to the minimum level allowed before benefits are affected.

The H team

Deliver health presentations to other people with learning disabilities

Produce photostory style leaflets about health services

The team was shortlisted from 400 entries for a national community care award

Community Involvement

One to One work with individuals connected them to people, places and activities that they like and enjoy in their own neighbourhoods and communities

Inclusive, not segregated, leisure activities daytime and evening

D:vine, an 18-30s social group

Holidays and trips

Help people to plan what they want from life and how to get it

Drop-in Centre

There is a drop-in centre in Spon End. It is for members of Grapevine to come during the week to meet friends, find information and support, to tell us what they want and get involved.
