London 2012 Open Weekend is an annual UK-wide celebration counting down to the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Open Weekend 2010 takes place from 23-25 July and will include hundreds of events across the UK – from sport to art, dance to exhibitions.

As part of Open Weekend 2010 and to celebrate Coventry’s recent announcement of becoming a host Olympic City, you are invited to the Community Information Fair being held at The Ricoh Arena Community Space on Saturday 24th July.

The Information Fair will be opened by David Moorcroft, Olympian and 2012 Ambassador and will provide the perfect opportunity to learn more about the projects and events happening locally in Coventry, regionally and nationally, find out how individuals and community organisations can get involved, obtain details of what funding might be available to support any projects/activities you may want to organise or be considering.

There will be presentations, performances, demonstrations and information about local and national 2012 projects. Key areas will inclue Coventry as an Olympic Host City, London 2012 Inspire Programme, 2012 Volunteering, Olympic Park Tours, Community Games, People Dancing, Get Set Education Programme, the Cultural Olympiad. There will also be free time to browse the information stands, get more details on particular areas of interest and have an opportunity to ask questions directly.

This FREE event has been organised with a number of partners, including Coventry CEN, Coventry and Warwickshire 2012 Partnership (CW2012), Coventry City Council, the Coventry Partnership, Heart of England Community Foundation, Ricoh Arena, The Ricoh Arena Community Space and West Midlands for 2012 (WM2012).

Refreshments and lunch are included. Free parking will also be available.
