Safer Foleshill
Safer community Mobile Unit to tour Foleshill
Police officers will be holding street briefings using a Mobile Unit to help improve safety in neighbourhoods in the north east of Coventry.
A Mobile Unit will be touring streets in Foleshill so that local people can talk about their major safety concerns directly to officers. The scheme is being introduced by a new Foleshill Community Safety Forum.
Neighbourhood Wardens will also be staging walk-abouts where local people will be able to raise issues directly about street services, community safety, and environmental crime.
The new Community Safety Forum will be launched on Tuesday 23 September 2008 at St Paul's Church, Foleshill at 7pm.
The Council's neighbourhood management team, neighbourhood policing team and neighbourhood wardens are setting up the Forum as part of the 'Your Neighbourhood Matters' programme.
The project in Foleshill will also be calling on the community and residents to attend the Forum.
Local resident, Mrs Thelma Slater who has been involved in community safety in Foleshill said: "It is so important for people to be able to raise local issues and know that people are dealing with them and getting back to you on the progress. The new Foleshill Community Safety Forum will really support Foleshill residents to raise these issues with officers and get more people involved to tackle Community Safety and Crime."
